Our learners at Include | St Matthews enjoyed an unforgettable day when Jungle Jo arrived with an amazing selection of exotic animals. From the moment the first creature appeared, the room was filled with curiosity, excitement, and a few brave gasps.
Throughout the interactive sessions, our learners had the chance to meet and learn about snakes, tropical frogs, millipedes, cockroaches, giant snails, and many other fascinating creatures. Each animal brought a new story, a new fact, and a new opportunity for our young people to discover something about the natural world they had never encountered before.
Hands-on Learning at Its Best
There is something powerful about learning that you can see, touch, and experience for yourself. The visit gave our learners a genuine, hands-on opportunity to build their confidence and curiosity, two things that sit at the very heart of how we approach education at Include | St Matthews.
We watched learners who were unsure at first slowly lean in, ask questions, and even hold animals they would never have imagined going near. Those small, brave steps are exactly what we celebrate. Every moment of courage, every spark of interest, and every smile told its own story of growth.
Inclusive, Educational and Great Fun
What made the day so special was how inclusive it was. Every learner could take part in their own way, at their own pace, with no pressure and plenty of encouragement. Some chose to observe, others dived straight in, and all of them came away having learned something new.
It was wonderful to see such high levels of engagement and enthusiasm right across the school. Days like this remind us that when learning is fun, meaningful, and built around the individual, every young person can thrive.
A huge thank you to Jungle Jo for a brilliant visit. We cannot wait to see what adventures come next.
